Living a zero-waste lifestyle means finding new things to do with items you no longer need. Whether that be using old clothes as rags or reusing bubble wrap to package gifts you are posting it is so important to reuse what you can. Here are some tips of ways to reuse household items you may not have considered.

How to reuse dryer sheets
Do you use tumble dryer sheets then wonder what you can do with them after the scent has gone? They are great to use as cleaning cloths for dusting monitors or tv’s as generally they are soft and lint-free.
How to reuse glass jars
Glass jars can be reused again and again in a number of ways. My favourites, other than the storage of other foods, is to make gifts for Christmas. It is really easy to layer ingredients for brownies in a jar and wrap a ribbon around it for a cheap unique Christmas gift. Not only that but it is a perfect one for kids to make for their friends!
How to reuse broken kitchenware
Broken kitchenware is perfect to use for children’s mud kitchens or bird feeders depending on what is broken. I absolutely love the teacup and saucer bird feeders, a bit of glue can mend a broken cup enough to make one of these and in my opinion, they look amazing. Saucepans etc are great for mud kitchens for kids in the garden.
How to reuse broken furniture
Some broken or damaged furniture can easily be mended or used elsewhere to avoid waste. Others can be completely repurposed. A broken table can be cut in half and used with just two legs and fitted to the wall as a little side table, perhaps at the bottom of the stairs or next to your bed? You can even reuse a washing machine that has broken to make a fire pit! Broken shelves not suitable for use anymore indoors can hold plants beautifully in the garden.
