Back in 2018, I started my personal finance and eco-friendly living blog, Looking After Your Pennies. I write about everything from saving money to making money to eco-friendly living.
But I realised that I wanted a place to focus on zero-waste living. It was, after all, eco-friendly living that first inspired me into the world of blogging with my first blog, The Free From Mummy.
Hence, Zero Waste Kids and Me was born. A place for me to share all by best zero-waste living tips on the topics of Kids, In the home, Lifestyle and Travel.
Who am I?
I’m Charlotte. I’m mummy to two little girls and wife to a lovely man. I enjoy running, swimming, reading, yoga and travelling.
In 2009, I entered the world of teaching after receiving my degree in mathematics. I was a teacher for 10 years, teaching students aged 11-18 years. In that time, I studied for a Master’s degree in Advanced Educational Practice and a further post-graduate qualification in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination.
Then in 2018, two kids later, I decided that enough was enough. I wanted to dream bigger and my husband and I set about making plans for an around the world trip.
After a year of extreme frugal living, we set off. We travelled through 5 continents and 12 countries with small backpacks (around 5kgs each) and two young children (4 and 2 years old).
I believe in zero-waste living
Being environmentally conscious is at the heart of all I do. I raise my children, design my home, live my life and travel always aware of my impact on the planet.
This blog will show you how to live your life like this too. I’m glad to have you here.
